Sword and scabbard

The sword is inscribed in Persian with the gold letters ‘Made at Isfahan’, a city in central Persia (now Iran). 

Presented to King Edward VII, when Prince of Wales, during his tour of India in 1875-76 by Mahbub Ali Khan, Nizam of Hyderabad. The Nizam was unable to meet the prince due to illness, so he sent the Prime Minister of Hyderabad, Salar Jung I, to receive the prince in Bombay, November 1875.
