Prices for group leaders and guides

Windsor Castle-authorised Blue Badge Guides enjoy free entry. To gain free admission, Blue Badge Guides should call the Ticket Sales and Information Office on +44 (0)303 123 7321. Blue Badge Guides may be requested to show their Blue Badge and Institute of Tourist Guiding membership card on the day of their visit.

Trainee Blue Badge Guides are offered complimentary admission during the course of their studies. Trainee guides should go the Admissions Centre on arrival and show their current London and Partners or Tourism South East trainee-guide pass.

All unauthorised guides and tour leaders must be included as part of a group booking.

Group bookings & payments

Windsor Castle is busiest from opening and throughout the morning. We have introduced timed tickets to manage the number of visitors inside The Queen’s official residences and galleries, so it is essential that groups pre-book an arrival time in advance of their visit. Groups can reserve and book tickets on our website or by calling the Ticket Sales and Information Office on +44 (0)303 123 7321. Please note that a £2.00 transaction fee is applied to all telephone bookings.

When you arrive, you will be required to pass through an airport-style security check. In order to speed up this process, please carry as few bags and items with you as possible.

In a change to previous booking conditions for Windsor Castle, it is now possible for groups of 15 or more to book on the day of their visit, both in person or by telephone (subject to availability). Online bookings for the same day remain off sale.

Group reservations must be paid for by credit card or company cheque, 30 days before the visit date.

We accept the following credit cards:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Express
  • JCB
  • Switch/Maestro
  • Diners Club

Company cheques should be made payable to 'Royal Collection Enterprises Limited'.

Coach parking

Pay-and-display coach parking is available on Alma Road in the town centre and is clearly signed from all approach routes. A lift takes visitors from the coach park to Windsor & Eton Central Station, which is a 5 to 10 minute walk to the Admissions Centre and Castle entrance.

Coaches can't set down or pick up passengers at the entrance to Windsor Castle.

Further information about coach parking can be found on the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead website.

Guiding in the Castle

Windsor Castle-authorised Blue Badge Guides are allowed to guide within the Precincts, but not in the State Apartments. We kindly request that social distancing is adhered to at all times when guiding at our sites.
