On the day of Pride in London 2026, join us at The King's Gallery, Buckingham Palace for one of our hands-on, taster embroidery sessions, inspired by the exquisite designs of Norman Hartnell.
Learn to embroider flower motifs in the style of the designs Norman Hartnell created for Queen Elizabeth in the 1950s. Our expert tutors will provide you with a readymade patch with a digital print of a motif from the exhibition. You will learn some simple embroidery knots and stitches, as well as stitching in sequins and beads to personalise your own patch to take home. No experience necessary, all materials provided
Each session will be one hour long and take place at the following times on Saturday 4 July:
- 12:00 - 13:00;
- 13:30 - 14:30;
- 15:00 - 16:00;
- 16:30 - 17:30.
Please make sure to arrive at the gallery at least 30 minutes before your chosen slot to ensure you have plenty of time to go through security checks on arrival. Depending on your chosen timeslot, you may either choose to visit the exhibition before or after the session.
