ROBERT TAILFER (ACTIVE 1736)

True and correct tables of time ... / by R.T. [ie. Robert Tailfer]

1736

RCIN 1082352

Tailfer’s True and Correct Tables of Times was written to ease the transition between the old style Julian calendar and the Gregorian calendar, which we still use today. The Gregorian calendar was finally introduced in Britain in 1752, having been instituted in 1582. The chief difference was that the year started on 1 January rather than 25 March. This copy was bound for Frederick Prince of Wales. Acquired by Queen Elizabeth II / Her Majesty The Queen, 1953 Cat. 176
