Knife cleaner

This contraption was designed to clean steel knives but was already out of date by 1924 as stainless steel cutlery was then in widespread use. Up to 12 knives could be cleaned at once. They would be slotted in and polished by leather blades, felt pads and bristles as abrasive powder was poured through the top.
