Frogmore House

A favourite royal retreat for more than 300 years.

Standing in the Home Park of Windsor Castle, the gardens at Frogmore House have been an enduring attraction for monarchs and their families since the house was purchased by Queen Charlotte in 1790.

Frogmore House and Gardens are only open to individuals on three Charity Open Days each year, when all proceeds are donated to specially selected charities. Dates for Spring 2021 have not yet been announced.

Frogmore will next open to pre-booked groups of 15 people or more during August 2021. Book group tickets

During August 2021 Frogmore House is open to pre-booked groups of 15+ people only.

The Royal Mausoleum is not open to visitors.

  • A visit to Frogmore House typically lasts 2 hours.
  • Visitors and their belongings may be subject to security checks. Read more about security & luggage.
  • Photography is not permitted in Frogmore House, but photography in the gardens is welcomed. Read about photography, filming & mobile phones.
  • Eating and drinking aren't allowed inside Frogmore House.
  • There are toilets and baby-care facilities available outside the House.
  • For safety reasons, pushchairs cannot be taken into the House. They need to be checked in at the entrance and collected at the end of your visit. Read more about visiting with children.
  • The Royal Mausoleum is not open to visitors.

By car

Frogmore House is located within Windsor Home Park, the private park adjacent to Windsor Castle. 

Visitors to the Spring Charity Days should enter from the Long Walk Gate, accessed via Park Street in Windsor Town Centre.

By coach / bus

Groups visiting Frogmore House during August must arrive as one group by coach, via the Shaw Farm Gate entrance on Albert Road, A308.

Coach parking

Frogmore House is only accessible by coach via Shaw Farm Gate on Albert Road. Free coach parking is available next to the House.

All visits include a guided tour led by one of our Wardens.
