The Orthodox and Anglican marriage services of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh

These watercolours were sent to Queen Victoria to explain the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh’s two wedding ceremonies. The sketch of the Orthodox ceremony has added flaps recording stages of the rite. In the sketch of the Anglican ceremony, the bride holds a bouquet containing myrtle sent to St Petersburg by the Queen.

Commissioned by Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh.
