The Historic Rooms at Windsor Castle were built for Charles II and his consort, Catherine of Braganza. Much of the elaborate decoration you see - wooden carvings by Grinling Gibbons and painted ceilings by Antonio Verrio - would have been familiar to the King and Queen.
