The largest room in the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Great Gallery is hung with portraits of real and legendary kings of Scotland. Depicting 95 kings and one queen, the portraits show the long line of the Stuart dynasty, starting with Fergus I, the legendary founder of Scotland, in c.330BC.
The series includes portraits of Macbeth, Robert the Bruce and Mary, Queen of Scots.
