On 20 June 1837, the 18 year old Victoria became Queen. To mark this anniversary join us for a day of family activities exploring Queen Victoria's time at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

    Victoria's visits
See replica robes made for Queen Victoria’s coronation- find out about her journal and what she wrote about her visits to the Palace of Holyroodhouse and Edinburgh.

    Changing Rooms at Holyrood
Pick up a trail and ‘spot the difference’ between Queen Victoria’s Holyrood and the modern Palace today, looking at watercolours of several rooms by Scottish artist George Greig.

    Postcards from the Palace
During the Victorian period some of the rooms in the Palace were open for tourists to visit. Learn about how you have followed in their footsteps and create a postcard to take home to remember your visit.

These activities will be delivered as drop-in events to one household at a time. Please see our FAQs for more details on our Covid-secure procedures in place.

The income from your ticket contributes directly to The Royal Collection Trust, a registered charity. The aims of The Royal Collection Trust are the care and conservation of the Royal Collection, and the promotion of access and enjoyment through exhibitions, publications, loans and educational activities.
