A collection of four volumes of miscellaneous private and official correspondence of Prince Albert (1819-61), covering the period from 1840-1861.

Included is correspondence with various members of European royalty and nobility, and with British government ministers on both national and international matters. The letters relate to a variety of subjects including appointments and promotions in the Royal Household and the Army and Navy; military awards and uniform alterations; the births of the royal children and other family events; parliamentary proceedings; and unrest in Ireland and Wales.
