In this online talk, eminent architectural historian Dr Steven Brindle will examine the lasting legacy of Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle. Following the devastating fire of 1992, a major restoration project returned the damaged State Rooms to their original magnificence, whilst in other areas, completely new rooms were created in a modern interpretation of the Gothic style making use of traditional materials. As a result, Steven will contextualise Her late Majesty as one of the great rebuilders of this historic castle.
