Though Georgian fashion was at its height more than three centuries ago, how the Georgians dressed may share more with modern fashion than first meets the eye. What can the Georgians tell us about trendsetting; about recycled fashion; and were the Georgians the original influencers?
Join Anna Reynolds, Surveyor of The King’s Pictures and curator of the exhibition, Style & Society: Dressing the Georgians, in conversation with Georgina Ripley, Principal Curator, Modern and Contemporary Design at National Museums Scotland. This event will explore some of the surprisingly modern ways in which Georgian fashion trends circulated throughout society and across the globe, as well as the ways in which Georgian style contributed to self-expression and identity- an aspect of fashion that still resonates today.
