From the medieval gardens of the canons of Holyrood Abbey to the Privy Garden of the Stuart court, the Victorian transformation to its present use for the Royal Garden Party, find out how the gardens have evolved across the centuries. With beautiful borders, trees of international significance, and stunning views to Salisbury Crags and Arthur’s Seat, the Palace gardens are a place of both beauty and history.

These talks are socially-distanced, with limited capacity; talks are drop-in and not pre-booked.

All events at the Palace of Holyroodhouse will be managed in line with COVID-secure procedures. Please see our Welcome Back page for more information.
