These interactive and engaging tours are the perfect way for families of all ages to explore the Royal Mews. Find out what the life of a royal horse is like, discover the secrets of the carriages and learn how to decode the meanings of the decorations on the coaches.

Each of our tours is unique, last approximately half an hour and are a fantastic insight into the stories of these amazing working stables. As each tour is unique, the starting point will change each time. Look out for the sign showing where to meet, or ask one of our friendly wardens.

Families of all ages are welcome on the tours, but the tours may be most suitable for families with children under 10.

Whilst you are at the Royal Mews you can also have a go at tacking up our beautifully carved wooden pony, just as the horses are tacked up before a royal procession, try on a coachman's livery and take your photograph in our carriage! You can also follow the free interactive family multimedia guide to learn even more about the horses, carriages and cars in the Royal Mews.

    Tours are subject to availability.

The income from your ticket contributes directly to The Royal Collection Trust, a registered charity. The aims of The Royal Collection Trust are the care and conservation of the Royal Collection, and the promotion of access and enjoyment through exhibitions, publications, loans and educational activities.
