Portraits at the Palace

There are hundreds of paintings to see at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, many of them portraits. In the centuries before photography portraits were an important way of revealing details about famous or imporant people through their pose, clothing and objects. Join us to discover what poses and clothing can tell us about a sitter.
