    At the Palace of Holyroodhouse we are celebrating 200 years since George IV’s historic visit to Edinburgh. Join us for a day of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

    Make a medal

    In 1822 a special commemorative medal was made to celebrate George’s visit. 200 years later join us to hear about this visit and make your very own medal to commemorate your visit.

    Royal Tartan

    Discover some surprising facts about the tartan outfit George wore to the Palace and have a go at designing a tartan of your own.

    Short Talks

    Discover the tale of George IV’s historic visit to Edinburgh and how the Palace of Holyroodhouse provided the grand setting for some special occasions.

    Short talks will take place at 11:00, 12:00 and 14:00.
