Come to Family Saturdays in July and find out all about Windsor Castle through the ages.

Saturday, 5 July – Royal Finery

Join us in the State Apartments and dress yourself as a King or Queen!  Come and try on some beautiful costumes that are just like those worn by Windsor's royal residents of the past, then find their portraits on display in the Castle's magnificent state rooms.

Saturday, 12 July – Bring on the battle!

Find out what it felt like to be a knight in days gone by, hear the sounds of battle and try on replica armour and costume.  Join our historical demonstrators and talk to them about the lives of knights and soldiers in a castle under siege.

Saturday, 19 July – Artful arms

What sorts of weapons do you think will be on display at Windsor Castle?  Spot the great variety of swords, pistols and daggers and find the ones inlaid with gems and mother-of-pearl like beautiful jewellery.  Then come to our art workshop and make and decorate your own.

Saturday, 26 July – Who lived here?

Come and look for portraits of all the Kings and Queens who have made Windsor their home through the ages – and of the very special person who lives here now.  Then get creative in our art sessions and produce a picture or collage of your favourite one.
