Led by an expert guide, the East Wing Exclusive Guided Tour will take you through the principal rooms of the Wing, as you discover the spaces beyond the famous façade of Buckingham Palace. You will view exquisite works from the Royal Collection and visit the Centre Room, where you can view the Palace balcony, first used by Queen Victoria.
These 90-minute tours (which do not include a visit to the State Rooms) are designed to give visitors a more in-depth look at the history of the East Wing and a chance to appreciate up-close the detail and craftsmanship of the works of art on display, at a time when the Palace is not usually open to the public.
Visitors joining East Wing tours have the special experience of entering through the Palace’s front gates and across the famous Forecourt, just as guests do for official royal events.
Good to know
- Tickets must be pre-booked. There is limited availability with a maximum of 20 places on each East Wing Exclusive Guided Tour.
- Your ticket can be converted into a 1-Year Pass for unlimited standard admission to Buckingham Palace, meaning you could come back to visit the magnificent State Rooms of the Palace during the summer opening in 2026. A £2 transaction fee will apply when pre-booking a return visit.
- The guided tour is in English only.
- As a working royal palace, sometimes closures can happen at short notice or some rooms may not be available during all tours.
- East Wing Exclusive Guided Tours are not a group product or to be purchased by tour operators, travel agencies, destination management companies or any other third parties for resale. Any such orders will be cancelled.

When can I visit the East Wing of Buckingham Palace?
There are two ways to enjoy a visit to the East Wing of Buckingham Palace:
- October to May - East Wing Exclusive Guided Tours. These tours are a more in-depth look at the history of the East Wing and the works of art on display. They do not include a visit to the State Rooms of Buckingham Palace.
- July to September - The State Rooms and East Wing Highlights Tour allows you to combine a tour of the highlights of the East Wing with a visit to the State Rooms of Buckingham Palace.
