    Join paintings conservator Claire Shepherd for a 20 minute talk about Jan Steen's A Woman at Her Toilet. The painting was the voted by newsletter subscribers and social media followers as their favourite painting in our June Masterpiece of the Month poll.

    From fabric to flesh to fur, Steen’s exquisite brushwork creates the illusion of different textures and sumptuous materials – but how did he do it? Take a look beneath the surface of the painting with Claire, and explore how a masterpiece is made.
