Booking for this event will close at 12:00 on 5 June 2023. This is a digital event facilitated by Zoom. Your link to access this digital event will be sent the day before the event. Join Royal Collection Trust experts Francesca Levey (Arms and Armour Conservator) and Michelle Kirk (Furniture Conservator) as they discuss the conservation treatments used to prepare items for display in an exhibition. Although the items in question – yari (Japanese spears) and a French roll-top desk – were alike in terms of decoration and deterioration, the treatment of the pieces was very different. Francesca and Michelle will share the various challenges they faced and the differing ways they approached the care and conservation of these precious items.

The income from your ticket contributes directly to The Royal Collection Trust, a registered charity. The aims of The Royal Collection Trust are the care and conservation of the Royal Collection, and the promotion of access and enjoyment through exhibitions, publications, loans and educational activities.
