Be inspired by Sir Walter Scott

Walter Scott is one of Scotland’s most famous writers and many of his books are held in the Royal Library. He was born in the Old Town of the City of Edinburgh and was inspired by the history around him to write novels, poems and plays. Within his works he describes many events which took place at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. In this resource children can learn through Scott about Robert the Bruce, Mary, Queen of Scots and Bonnie Prince Charlie and be inspired to undertake their own pieces of creative writing.
