Not all prints are black and white. This striking woodcut of Ulrich, Duke of Wurttemberg (1487–1550) dates from the mid-16th century and has been brightly hand-coloured in purple, blue, yellow, and brown. Many prints were vividly coloured, in the case of this print the decoration has been added by hand.
