1943

RCIN 70778

Christmas pantomimes were performed at Windsor between 1941 and 1944. The first of these was Cinderella, in which Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret both had leading roles. The pantomimes were staged in the Waterloo Chamber and were written and produced by Hubert Tannar, Headmaster of the Royal School in Windsor Great Park.

This red silk sleeveless dress with gold and cream floral spray decoration with a matching red silk jacket was worn by Princess Margaret in her role as Princess Roxana in the 1943 production of Aladdin at Windsor Castle.
