The ruined Schloss Stolzenfels was restored by Frederick William IV of Prussia. The Queen and Prince Albert visited in August 1845 on their way to Coburg, and dined in the Great Knights’ Hall. This watercolour was included in an album presented to the Queen by Frederick William as a souvenir of the visit.
