These vases combine Jennens & Bettridge’s patented ‘gem-enamelling’ with Elkington’s electroformed gilt-metal mounts. They demonstrate Prince Albert’s abiding interest in combining good design with new manufacturing processes, many of which had been pioneered in Birmingham.
