THOMAS CUFF (ACTIVE 1811)

Sabretache

c.1811-20

RCIN 62232

As Colonel Commandant, and later Colonel, of the 10th Light Dragoons, patterns of uniforms and equipment were submitted to the Prince Regent for approval, many of which he retained at Carlton House. The sabretache was made to be worn with the officer's full dress uniform. The use of velvet is unusual, and this rich and costly material suggests that the sabretache was made for use by the Prince himself.
