Portrait of a Lady as Diana

The unknown sitter is painted as the goddess Diana. Two of Diana’s three manifestations are depicted here: Luna, the moon goddess, with a crescent shaped jewel in her hair, and Diana, the huntress, wielding a bow and arrow.
