The Queen marking Remembrance Sunday

11 Nov 2001

RCIN 2943913

The annual Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cenotaph, Whitehall, is a key event in the royal calendar. On this occasion the whole nation, led by the Sovereign, pays homage to those who have died in the service of their country. The Queen has attended the service from her earliest years. She is pictured here during the two-minute silence at the service in 2001, shortly before laying her wreath.
