1724?

RCIN 812336

The Clare Market Artists’ Club met at the Bull’s Head Tavern near Drury Lane in London. This print is said to have been taken from an engraving on a tankard made for the club by Hogarth, who was a member. The central scene may show the discovery of the thirteenth-century artist Giotto as a young shepherd, drawing on the ground with a stick. In the Royal Collection by 1845 Cat. 77
