This cabinet was formerly in the collection of the Venetian art collector Luigi Celotti (c. 1768–1846), librarian to the Barbarigo family. Celotti formed a significant collection of books and manuscripts as well as paintings, possessing works by Giorgione, Sebastiano Ricci and Tiepolo among others. This cabinet was purchased from the London dealer E.H. Baldock in 1826. Acquired by George IV
