Prince Albert was Queen Victoria’s first cousin. On his second visit to Windsor in 1839, the young Queen noted his ‘ beautiful blue eyes, an exquisite nose, and such a pretty mouth with delicate moustachios, and slight but very slight whiskers’. The couple became engaged during this visit and made these drawings of one another in the year of their marriage.
