"Stained Glass Windows for the Private Chapel Windsor Castle, Design No.4."

Aug 1996

Pen and ink with watercolour | RCIN 933305

With the destruction of the former Private Chapel during the 1992 fire, a new space close to here was set aside as a private place of worship, and a modern stained glass window for it was commissioned from Joseph Nuttgens. Design No. 3 was developed following Prince Philip’s suggestion of highlighting the figures of the fireman and staff rescuing a painting. Design No. 4 was the final drawing from which Nuttgens made the window.
