PAUL SANDBY (1731-1809)

The garden of the Deputy Ranger's Lodge, Windsor Great Park

circa

RCIN 917596

Paul Sandby records here the appearance of his brother’s home the Deputy Ranger’s Lodge in Windsor Great Park. It shows the view from the Lodge looking to the south-west, where mature oak trees in the park provide a foil for the plantation of younger trees encircled by the serpentine path. A maid waters flowering plants in pots on the lawn in front of the house, and a family group strolls by on the left.
