Services

The decoration on both of these services would have appealed to their purchaser, Queen Alexandra. The lower tea service, known as a tête à tête, would have allowed two confidantes to take tea in an elegant manner, whilst the encrusted forget-me-nots with their scrolling stems may have reflected the relationship between the drinkers. The service on the higher shelf is decorated with garden flowers including roses, wallflowers, sweet peas and daisies, all painted in loose bouquets.
