This portrait of Princess Elizabeth was one of several taken in July 1928. It was hand-coloured in pastel in 1931 by Christopher Adams, eldest brother to Marcus Adams. Christopher was a professional artist and a member of the Royal Miniature Society. He was a frequent visitor to his brother's studio, and often hand-coloured portraits should a colour image be required.
