Bealach na Bà - West

2011

RCIN 212778

A painting of two steep mountains with a snaking path between them. Bealach Na Bà is a historic pass through the mountains of the Applecross peninsula, in Wester Ross in the Scottish Highlands. The single-track road has very tight hairpin bends and steep gradients similar to roads through the Alps. Bealach na Bà is from the Scottish Gaelic for 'Pass of the Cattle', as the pass was historically used by drovers.
