The marquise-cut pendant stone- Cullinan VI - weighs 11.5 metric carats and was purchased by King Edward VII for Queen Alexandra in 1908. It was inherited by Queen Mary in 1925 and since then has generally been worn as a pendant to Cullinan VIII, an emerald-cut diamond of 6.8 metric carats.

  • Cullinan VI, the larger if the two Cullinan marquise-cut stones was purchased by King Edward VII from Asscher in 1908 and set by Queen Alexandra on her regal circlet and subsequently set into this brooch. Cullinan VIII was given to Queen Mary by the South African Government in June 1910. The brooch was inherited by The Queen from her Grandmother, Queen Mary in 1953.
