Delegates at the Congress of Paris

Representatives of the countries involved in the Crimean War, who met in Paris to negotiate the terms of peace in 1856. The peace treaty was finally signed on 30 March and was proclaimed by the firing of a salute of 101 guns. The delegates are, from left to right, seated: Baron Hübner, Ali Pasha, Lord Clarendon, Count Walewski, Count Orloff, Baron de Bourqueney, Lord Cowley. Standing: Count Cavour, Marquis de Villamarina, Count Hatzfeldt, M. Benedetti, Mehemet Djemil Bey, Baron Brunow, Baron Manteuffel, Count Buol.
