Although the Prince wrote in his journal that he had a bad cold and couldn’t explore the ruins at Philae as much as he wanted, he watched Bedford take a series of views. He later noted, ‘Mr. Bedford, the photographer, who came fr. England with me & our party, took some very good views’. Acquired by the Prince of Wales, 1862
