RCIN 2999920

Marcus Adams specialised in portraits of young children and by the 1920s had established a reputation as the leading child photographer of the day. He took his first portraits of the Duchess of York and Princess Elizabeth in 1926, and continued to photograph them regularly. After the birth of Princess Margaret, Adams photographed the two Princesses with their mother on an almost annual basis. He continued to photograph the younger members of the Royal Family until 1956 when his last royal sitting took place, with Princess Anne.
