These four portraits are part of a portfolio of work depicting The Queen, created at the time of Her Majesty’s Golden Jubilee in 2002 and exhibited at Windsor and in the National Portrait Gallery, London, in the same year. The ten selected photographers all come from Britain and the Commonwealth.

The Queen’s third child, the Duke of York, is an accomplished photographer, and published a book of his work in 1985. His photograph of The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and Queen Elizabeth at the Castle of Mey, was used as Her Majesty’s Christmas card in 1985.

The aims of The Royal Collection Trust are the care and conservation of the Royal Collection, and the promotion of access and enjoyment through exhibitions, publications, loans and educational activities.
