An extremely popular format in 16th and 17th century Europe
This canvas formed part of Queen Charlotte’s ‘Mary Moser Room’ at Frogmore where it remains to this day. The room was decorated entirely in floral paintings by Moser. Some of these paintings were painted on canvas while others were painted directly upon the walls.
