Box commemorating Edward VII's return to health

1902

RCIN 22407

This portrait of Edward VII (r.1901–10) was printed on the lid of a small enamel box to celebrate the King's return to health in 1902. Popular portraits could be printed on a range of materials as keepsakes to record an important event. Small boxes with portraits of monarchs were popular from the eighteenth until the twentieth century.
