Deng Wei (1959-2013) was an honorary member of the Royal Photographic Society. Founded in 1853, the Society later received the patronage of Queen Victoria (1819-1901) and Prince Albert (1819-61) in 1854. The links between the Royal family and Royal Photographic Society continue to this day. This photograph is from a portfolio of works entitled Wind From China. Deng presented Queen Elizabeth II (b.1926) with the first printing of the portfolio in September 2006. The photograph depicts a male supporter of the campaign for London to host the Olympics in 2012. This campaign was ultimately successful.
