As well as an extensive collection of contemporary and historic British and European weapons, armour and other equipment, the Prince Regent also amassed a huge range of arms from further afield. This musket formed part of the lavish gift presented to the Prince Regent by the Dey of Algiers. Other gifts from Algeria included jewelled swords, fire arms, caparisons, saddles, and stirrups.
