A guide to the history of frames in the Royal Collection

MASTER OF THE OETTINGEN-WALLERSTEIN PICTURE FRAME (MID 19TH CENTURY)

Oettingen-Wallerstein Style

RCIN 7407812

This minimalistic design is meant to evoke an older style that would fit with many of the paintings that came in the Oettingen-Wallerstein collection.

They were probably made for Prince Albert in the 1850s.
