This writing desk is veneered with contre-partie Boulle marquetry of scrolling foliage and mounted with gilt bronze male and female heads. It was purchased by George IV for the Library at Carlton House. It was later part of the group of furniture and furnishings refurbished between 1827 and 1829 by Morel and Seddon for His Majesty’s Sitting Room at Windsor Castle. It can be seen today in the King's Drawing Room at Windsor Castle.
