Returning to Jerusalem, Bedford photographed the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the building constructed over the site of Christ’s Crucifixion, burial and Resurrection. Whilst the earliest church here was begun in the 4th century, numerous additions and repairs have been over many years. The space inside the church is divided up between six different Christian denominations. The photograph is signed, captioned and dated in the negative, 'F Bedford Jerusalem'. The number in the Day & Son series is 61.
