8 October 2021 – 8 February 2022

Royal Cousins, Rival Queens is the first exhibition to explore the turbulent relationship between Elizabeth I and Mary, Queen of Scots. Their dramatic story is examined in detail, bringing together some of the most famous objects associated with both sixteenth-century queens. Objects lent from the Royal Collection include two of the best-known portraits of Mary, Queen of Scots, both by François Clouet.
